Coral reefs are the most diverse marine ecosystem. Almost one quarter of all ocean animals depend on reefs for food or shelter. Many reefs are created from many different coral colonies.
Corals are found across the oceans, in shallow and deep water, but reef building corals are only found in tropical and subtropical waters.
There are many coral reefs found throughout the world, but one of the most interesting is the Apo Reef.

The Apo Reef is a coral reef in the western water of the Philippines. It is the second longest reef in the world. The Apo Reef is in the Mindoro Strait in the Philippines. It is 33 kilometers west of the town Sablayan. Its corals are roughly 34 sqaure kilometers of reef where different species of fish, marine mammals, and invertebrates live.
Most of the reef is underwater, but there are three atolls. Apo Island, Binangaan, and Cayos de Bajo.
Apo Reef is located at about 12.6758000 degrees North, and 120.4750000 degrees East.
